Quedamos en el DublÃn

Entre que me gustaba el local y su ambiente, y que se encontraba justo a medio camino entre mi casa y el trabajo, el bar “DublÃn” (Panaderas, 50, A Coruña, junto al Museo de Bellas Artes) era, para mÃ, el sitio perfecto para quedar con los amigos. Aunque, para ser sinceros, no acostumbrábamos ni a llamarnos, porque todos sabÃamos que sólo era cuestión de esperar, y no demasiado, para que alguno de nosotros se dejara caer por ese lugar.
El DublÃn no es un irlandés al uso, a pesar de lo que parezca por su decoración. Cuando se inauguró (casi podrÃa decir “cuando lo inauguré”) apenas habÃa establecimientos similares en la ciudad, y no tardó en convertirse en uno de los referentes culturales coruñeses. Por allà pasaban universitarios, poetas, pintores y músicos locales que se mezclaban en buena sintonÃa con aquéllos que, como yo o mis amigos, aunque nada aportábamos al panorama intelectual de la ciudad, resultábamos un vistoso relleno. AcudÃamos a conciertos, atestábamos sus mesas con incontables colillas, jarras de cerveza y copas de vino vacÃas, pero, sobre todo, hablábamos. Charlábamos sin parar, y a medida que los efectos del alcohol nos iban afectando, los temas de nuestra conversación se repetÃan, sorprendentemente reinventados, una y otra vez. Y asà podÃamos estar desde la tapa matutina hasta la última copa, ya con el cierre del local echado. Se podrÃa decir que éramos intemporales, casi eternos. De hecho, asà nos sentÃamos en esa época.
Hace unos tres años que sólo piso el DublÃn esporádicamente. Las obligaciones y responsabilidades que he ido adquiriendo en la auténtica vida me han ido alejando de aquellos riojas “Conde de Valdemar” que tanto entretenÃan mis bohemios mediodÃas. Hoy fue una de esas contadas ocasiones, pero nada salió como yo deseaba. Rozaban las dos de la tarde, y me decidà a entrar. No habÃa nadie en las mesas, asà que me dirigà a la barra y, al no ver en la pizarra mi tapa favorita (pasta al roquefort), pedà a la desconocida camarera que ocupaba el puesto de mis añorados Fernando, Lito, Esther, Marta, etc, etc, una simple cerveza. Pero lo peor de todo fue que en los casi 40 minutos que me llevó hacer que leÃa un periódico atrasado, y sacar unas cuantas fotos para ésto que están leyendo, ningún conocido atravesó el umbral de su puerta.
Ya lo sé, la próxima vez, mejor llamo.
