Callejuelas de Betanzos

Betanzos (”de los Caballeros“) es una histórica localidad situada a menos de 30 kms de A Coruña. Se dice que era la capital de la provincia en la época de los romanos, y se la conocÃa como Brigantium. Cierto o no, es una población realmente atractiva. Cuenta con un casco antiguo no demasiado bien cuidado, pero que nos retrotrae fácilmente a la época medieval. De hecho se celebra una famosa feria de época, en el verano, si no me equivoco.
Pero mi zona favorita son las estrechÃsimas callejuelas (la de la foto inferior central no llega al metro de ancho, se lo juro) que comunican la céntrica Plaza de GarcÃa Hermanos con la calle Fonte de Unta y sus casas de vistosos soportales (ver imágenes superiores). Son callecitas repletas de pequeños bares o “tascas” de parada obligada, en los que se debe tomar el afrutado vino rojo de la localidad acompañado de cualquier suculenta tapa o ración de producto autóctono (tortilla o empanada, preferiblemente). Les recomiendo que inicien su peregrinar por estas “iglesias” en la calle Venela do Progreso (cabecera). En dónde y, sobre todo, en cómo acabarán esta ruta,  ahà ya no entro. Allá ustedes, su estómago y, principalmente, su cabeza.
